I loved working with Tara and Mike and their pup Bentley! It was pretty freezing cold at the Salt Flats for their engagement session, but oh so worth it. I'm looking forward to their wedding in Salt Lake this summer!

Moonrise Kingdom Wedding Inspiration Shoot

For this editorial shoot in the 2017 issue of Southern Utah Bride magazine, I really wanted to do something fun and different. The idea was inspired by the Wes Anderson film Moonrise Kingdom and the vintage Scout camp sketches from the 1950s and 60s. I teamed up with my favorite gals Forvermore Events and Bloomers to make the vision come to like! I’m so happy with how it all turned out. It was the most relaxed and fun styled shoot to date, even with our little adventure with the canoe. Thank you to all of the talented people who contributed!

Joshua Tree Engagements

 

I had so much fun adventuring around the desert with these two! Siera and Max are an absolute blast to be around and I can’t wait for their wedding in just a few weeks. When we were planning their engagement session, Siera told me they love rock climbing, hiking, and pretty much anything that involves an outdoor adventure. We started the shoot at Ivin’s Reservoir. Sierra and Max skipped some rocks together and frolicked around on the beach. We finished up the shoot in the beautiful desert just outside of Utah where we found plenty of gorgeous Joshua Trees and a beautiful sunset.

 

 

Spring Wedding at Shangri La Event Center

 

As I was prepping this blog post, I was getting so excited for SPRING! I’m ready for the green to come back and for all of the lovely weddings on my calendar this year. Tori and Jose’s wedding at Shangri La Event Center was beautiful and heartfelt. This venue is stunning in late April and May with all of the green trees and this lovely little orchard. Sadly they have since cut down this gorgeous willow tree that I was obsessed with, but the orchard is still there thankfully. The bride put a lot of work into the DIY elements of the day and it really allowed the emotional elements of this wedding to shine through. The day began with the bride getting ready at the venue and we coordinate a first look at one of the bridges on the pond. Jose’s reaction was so sweet. I think my favorite moment from the day was Tori walking down the aisle. She was just so happy and stunning. The look on her face (you’ll see in the photos below) was priceless.

 

Spring Engagement Session with Blossoms and Desert Beauty

 

It’s February now, which means spring is just around the corner here in Southern Utah. It’s got me reminiscing about one my favorite engagements shoots from last spring. This engagement session was a dream. The energy and love between these two was so sweet and fun. Combined with the gorgeous colors and light, it was perfect! The first few weeks in March in St. George are just beautiful– the trees are all in bloom downtown, the desert comes alive with color… It’s my absolute favorite. I loved working with Tori and Jose and will be sharing their wedding tomorrow!
